Taking plant seeds back to uk ?

I have english visitors staying here in australia with me at the moment and they are due to fly back to the uk next week , . Are they allowed to take back packets of seeds that are bought through tourist shops ?

also they would like to take orchard bulbs , can anyone please help.

I know you cannot bring them into Australia...

maybe try contacting Australian customs about exporting them:

I think you would be alright with the bought packet of seeds, not sure about the orchid bulbs though.  Either way DEFINATELY mention it when going through customs.  Like the previous answer, perhaps you could find out from customs before hand.
