Taking secondary name out from a car.?

I'm a secondary owner to a car, but if i was to take my name out, would it effect my credit in anyway?

if the car is paid off you can remove your name and it will not affect your credit. if the car isn't paid off the other person will have to refinance the car , and i am not sure how that will affect your credit

Is it paid for?  If not your probably can't remove your name.
