  1. Hudson's on the Bend is known in this area and the ENTIRE country for good eats!  When Maria Shriver visited Austin a little over a year ago, she met Lance Armstrong there for dinner.  They have exotic grilled meats of all sort and a great website to see what you would expect.  Try the Venison Chops with the grilled peach stuffed with Goat Cheese, absolutely amazing!

Driskill is good, but Chef Bull is gone, and i know people that work there and there has been a huge turnover in staff, so you can take your chances, but i'd rather not take mine with an anniversary.

UCHI is just awesome!!!  What a place!  Like the former Driskill Chef Bull, Tyson Cole has also competed on Iron Chef America.  Freshed sushi, but fantastic menu for entrees!

Jeffrey's is nice.  I haven't been there personally, but heard so many good things.  You probably won't be disappointed.

I can't suggest Shoreline Grill (near Four Seasons).  It's stuffy and i was disappointed BOTH times i went.

If you want crab & fresh seafood, go to Truluck's.

    Good luck!

  2. there is romeos. I actually love that place. you can also check out this website www.yelp.com. A lot of people from austin rate the different business and it tells you whether it's a good place to eat or not.

  3. Cool River. I believe there are 2 locations. Amazing food. Great atmosphere. (very dressy) It is a bit expensive too. A couple other ones with prices that are a little more reasonable are...

    Trulucks

    Kenichi (if you like sushi)

  4. For the top experience in Austin-area dining, it's still the Driskill Grill

    Driskill Grill

With tantalizing tastes and sparkling artistry, the Driskill Grill has triumphed for the third straight year.

    Aquarelle

Dining at Aquarelle remains such an enticing experience.

    Café at the Four Seasons

The Café has been one of Austin's best restaurants for nearly two decades, thanks to Elmar Prambs.

    Hudson's on the Bend

The blending of regional flavors (and the outstanding preparation of game) is the hallmark of Jeff Blank and his staff.

    Jeffrey's

Executive chef David Garrido melds the flavors of the region into innovative cuisine at Jeffrey's.

    Café 909

Chef-owner Mark Schmidt is cooking, plating and garnishing virtually every dish.

    Uchi

This is one of those rare places where it's worth the wait, and there almost always is one.

    Zoot

It would take a catastrophe to derail the service at Zoot.

    Wink

At Wink, chicken is treated the way a four-star restaurant should handle all its dishes: with an emphasis on outstanding taste.

    Little Texas Bistro

Paul Petersen is a talented, creative cook who has steadily added to and refined his menu.

+++++ There is so many wonderful places to go... Here are the top 10!! Since you are new to the area... you have so many NEW places to explore!! Congrats on your anniversary!

  5. Z-Tejas, III Forks, Eddie V's, Truluck's, there really is a lot of good places!  Good Luck!
