Question:

Taking suitcases on TGV from Nice to Paris?

Hello,

My wife and I will be taking the TGV from Nice to Paris in May. From what I can see on the Net, there are luggage racks at the back of the carriage for suitcases and overhead racks for smaller bags. Is that correct? Is there enought room for two suitcases? We're going First Class, if that makes a difference to the layout . I'm not paying for the trip, by the way. I won it in a competition. :-) Thank you!

  1. no problem, but more importantly, the train leaves on time.  it will not wait for you while you find the right car. So if everyone but you is on the train, get on ASAP, then find your car from the inside of the train.  Don't get left behind!

  2. Hi, There is a small space "luggage racks" at the back, but if your luggage are not too big, you can install them near you,

    Congratulations for the competition !

I hope that your trip in France was fun, the French Riviera is beautiful, with good hotels and very good restaurants, I wish that you were not only in Nice, there are so many small harbours, St Tropez, Villefranche sur Mer, Le Cap Ferrat, Principauté de Monaco, it's almost to late to wish you "Welcome in France", French citizens love american people and love America !

  3. Yes, there will be plenty of room for your luggage. Just make sure to be a little early to board the train so that the racks are not completely filled up with others' luggage. But I have never had a problem with my luggage any time I have taken TGV. And congrats on winning the trip!

  5. My husband and I took the same trip last summer.  When you get on the train, you leave your suitcases in the luggage area/rack, unless they are the carry on size, and then you can take them with you and put them above your head.  Leaving our luggage made us very nervous and we were concerned it might get stolen.  It was fine but I'd recommend you get to the doors before the train stops so you can protect your luggage.
