  1. spray or brush shellac on.  It's the universal odor barrier.  It will dry in about 20 minutes and not leave an odor.

Under no circumstances put an oil-based urethane or other oil-based finishes on.  It will smell of oil for years.

  2. Fill drawer with regular cat litter and leave for a while, overnight maybe.....

  3. Leave all the draws open and empty in a room with good ventilation (i.e. windows open if possible) and the odor should disappear in a few days.  But either way, it will go away with time.

  4. If you can do without the drawer for a bit, empty it, take it to a ventilated space, and spray the entire interior with a clear urethane from a spray can.  Let it dry for a while depending on how thick you put in on or how humid it is.  The urethane will not smell and will seal the wood.

Otherwise, cedar shavings work, closet deodorizers work, and even a combination of vinegar and water will help reduce the wood smell.  You can help the drying process on the latter by using a hair dryer.  The vinegar odor will go away in about 24 hours.  I would opt for the cedar potpourri first since it is the simplest.
