  1. id imagine the prices are at a set price nation wide... i live in sydney...you have to get a learners permit first... which you get by paying about $30 to take a computer test..if you pass you pay $40 to get your card... then you complete 150hrs of supervised driving..which you record in a log book... once thats done.. (it could take around 2yrs to complete) you take a practical driving test which costs $60... and if you pass you pay an additional $60 to get your licence

  2. In NSW

    Licence fees

    http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/lice...

    learners plates http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/gett...

    road rules handbook http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/down...

    Knowledge test http://ols2.rta.nsw.gov.au/odkt/servlet/...

  3. Overall you have to take three tests to get your full licence (or black licence). First you take your L's test, which is a computer test which just shows that you know the basic road rules. You take it at your local RTA (road and traffic authority). After you pass, you get given L plates which you have to put on your car and, under the supervision of a black licence driver, complete a minimum of 120 hours driving (I think this is the correct amount) which you sign off in a log book. Then after you have done that, you take a practical test for your red P's (provisional drivers licence) which lasts about 20 minutes with an RTA supervisor in the car with you. When you pass this, you have to have red P plates on your car when you drive for about 12-18 months (i think), after which you take another computer test and are given your full licence. Easy, huh? btw, when on your red p's there are special consitions - check out the RTA site for all the info.
