  2. the combination will be horrible, with a danger of the plaster being pulled away from the laths because the wood chip is so well adhered.  You could try overboarding and skimming..I know it sounds alot of work, but s***w the boards throught the laths to the joists for a secure fixing...good luck

  3. ax,sledge hammer.chain saw or saws all,for the heavy stuff.ah the blade on saws won't take it they dull and cut no more on that plaster.double edge ax works best but not in close proximity of any one or thing.check with tool rental co. and see what they recomend.

  4. Not a good combination, lathe & plaster, and woodchip wallpaper. To strip this off will be very precarious, because if any of the plaster is damaged, then once you remove the paper it may fall apart. Sanding these walls smooth may be an alternative but it would be slow and dusty.  What were people thinking about when they stuck it on the ceiling as well as the walls. I would not use a steam wallpaper stripper, its too risky. Other than that, I can only think of giving the whole area a skimming of plaster to smooth it all.

  5. Hire a steam stripper for a day or two, its still quite hard but you will get there.

  6. Either rent or buy a wallpaper stripper. We rented one and you get like a roller with spikes on it and you roll it up and down the paper you are stripping and then you use the wallpaper stripper (It uses steam), Its a bit messy with wet wallpaper everywhere but it does a fantastic job.

  7. Carefully.  Hire a steam stripper and use an ordinary stripping knife, rather than a razor sharp cutting blade type and just let the steam do the donkey work and be patient.

  8. Score it and use a steamer, it works but it is hard work.  Worth it in the end tho.  Good Luck

  9. lots of hard work and never give in to it
