Takuma Ueda outshines Wisnu Yuli Prasetyo in 2013 Djarum Superliga Badminton

Japan’s budding shuttler Takuma Ueda served notice of his potential in the group stage of Djarum Superliga Badminton and thrashed Wisnu Yuli Prasetyo on February 7, 2013.
This straight-set match kept both contenders head-to-head for 58 minutes in the local badminton arena of Surabaya, Indonesia.
The Japanese campaigner showed superior craft on the court and wrapped this showdown with an impressive result of 21-16 and 28-26.
Takuma Ueda, who was playing for Unisys Badminton Club, laid foundation of his dominance immediately in the first set and capitalised this early advantage in the second set.
In the opening game, he unleashed a flurry of power packed strokes in the beginning and confined his competitor in the rear court.
He mounted pressure by piling up a mountainous figure in no time and then magnified the impact with couple of furious rallies.
Wisnu Yuli, who was representing PB Mutiara Bandung club, could not withstand this intensive attack and remained at the lower end in most part of the game.
On the other hand, Takuma did not show mercy and finished first half of the set with a respectable score position. He started second half with an authoritative approach and doubled the trouble for his challenger.
However, couple of blunders weakened his grip in third quarter of the set and allowed Wisnu to proceed on the points table.
At this stage, Takuma did not lose heart and reinstated his supremacy when it mattered. He registered a winning margin of 21-16 and bagged a valuable match point.
The following game was not a one-sided affair as it kept swinging between both shuttlers until the game point situation.
Initially, the Japanese player relished full benefits of his first set win but then the local campaigner geared up himself and levelled the score before one-minute interval.
Wisnu Yuli matched his rival’s skills in all departments of the game and did not allow him to establish an unassailable lead.
Both players chased each other until final moments and made this a memorable contest. Finally this nerve-racking contest ended when Takuma Ueda placed a tight yet decisive margin of 28-26.
His timely win proved real boost for his team mates as Unisys Badminton Club won this encounter with 5-0 score.
