Takurou Fujii earns Men’s 100m freestyle gold: Day five - Tatsumi International Pool, Tokyo
Takurou Fujii earned gold medal of the Men’s 100m freestyle on fifth day of the Tatsumi International Pool in Tokyo, Japan on Friday, April 6.
Fujii showed no signs of slowing down and sprinted his way towards the finishing end for gold medal. He remained comfortably ahead of his following swimmers and cemented his place on the medal rostrum for gold medal.
Fujii remained nearly two strokes ahead of his subsequent rival and hit the wall with an effort of 49.20 seconds for gold medal of the event. His gold winning effort remained 0.36 seconds ahead of Yuuki Kawachi, who earned silver medal of the discipline
by ending his swim in a time of 49.56 seconds.
Kawachi was followed by Shinri Shioura, who was 0.09 seconds slower from overpowering his former finisher and secured the victory stand for bronze medal by ending his swim in a time of 49.65 seconds.
Shioura was chased by Kenji Kobase, who remained 0.32 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and transpired on the finishing blockade as fourth position holder by reporting a time of 49.97 seconds.
Similarly, Kobase remained 0.11 seconds faster from Kazuki Nagura, who proved his eligibility for fifth fastest spot of the race and tapped the wall with an effort of 50.08 seconds.
Nagura was followed by Ranmaru Harada, who was 0.04 seconds slower from his former finisher and settled on the wall as sixth best swimmer with the timing of 50.12 seconds. Harada was chased by Katsumi Nakamura, who was marginally behind him and ended seventh
in the double lap freestyle event.
Nakamura was only 0.03 seconds slower from overpowering his former finisher and emerged on the finishing blockade with the timing of 50.15 seconds.
His effort was traced by Takayuki Minari, who suffered a loss of 0.11 seconds from his former finisher and ended eighth in the discipline by posting 50.26 seconds.
Furthermore, the winners received a huge round of applause from the audience for their praiseworthy efforts in the 100m discipline. In addition, the position holders were awarded medals and accolades at the prize distribution ceremony of the championship.
