  1. openreach come and instal your line if its not getting to the exchange, doesnt matter who you choose. they are part of bt but just do the wires not the dial tone so you can choose anyone. shop around.

  2. I would have probably thought so, yes.

  3. Are you in a cable area then yes, if your not then you need to sign with someone who have wholesale Line rental, they wil deal with BT Openreach. You contract is then with them and not BT.

    Hope this helps?

  4. Yes, you can sign up for any other provider. I would advise you not to go for talk talk because they wil tie you to a contract of about 18 months and charge you a connection fee. I would recommend you to go with Utility warehouse, with a pack of broadband, line rental and free uk calls at £19.99.  No minimum contract (can leave any time). They also do line installation at £99 compared to about £130 by BT. You can have a look at their website at www.telecomplus.org.uk/A10928

  5. Theoretically, yes. But if Talktalk haven't got their act together, they might not be able to raise the Openreach order correctly. Shop around -- see who talks sense when you ring them.
