  1. talking behind someone else back is more disrespectful than talking to one's face, because they pretend to say something to you while behind your back they say the opposite thing.

  2. I would much rather someone say it to my face than to say it behind my back.  If you have a comment to make, have the guts to say it to me.

  3. Speaking the truth to your face is what's RIGHT, whether the truth is bad or good.  Someone who doesn't have the guts to say something to your face isn't much of a person.  Talking behind your back is NOT right, because you can't defend yourself (if indeed you want to - some people aren't worth it) - that's called gossip, and it's pretty much universally condemned in our culture.

  4. Ooh - toughy. I would probably say back-stabbing is worse.

Think about it this way - if you had a friend that had an issue with you for some reason, wouldn't you want him/her to discuss it with you in person - or would you want to find out later they had been trash talking you behind your back? I would prefer to be able to confront that person directly about the problem.

  5. Talking behind your back is just as rude....you just don't know what they are saying!

  6. I didn't like it when I was in high-school, and this grandmother dislikes it now even more.  Don't act like you like me to my face, then stab me in the back later.  I have no use for that.
