I have just done a speed test below and I would like to know if my result is fast, ok, or slow.

I am on broadband in New Zealand.

Does the result indicate it is my computer that is fast, OK or slow, or is it the provider

Last Result:

Download Speed: 61 kbps (7.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 45 kbps (5.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

  1. my second computer is half your speed...poor bloody thing is dying..i ordered a new one to use as a spare..my old one is in training to become land fill when the garbo comes again.....seamanab

  2. I'd say that's quite slow, my results are

    Download: 2650 kbps

    Upload: 1770 kbps

    Urdna

  3. As far as broadband goes it's extremely slow.

If you have dial up it's smoking fast.

  4. Try http://www.speedtest.net instead of the one you did. When performing a speed test, make sure that there is no other network activity (don't surf or download anything, and if you're sharing your internet connection, make sure nobody else is using it).

Otherwise, your speed is very slow - faster than dial-up but not by much. The problem is with the provider (not the computer).

A standard ISP that offers you 3mbps access provides 3mbps max. If more customers of that ISP are using the internet, your speed will be slower than advertised. (The load is balanced between users). Try testing at different times of the day.

  5. That's slow Dune, about the speed of dial up on a slow day.

It isn't your computer but your supplier.

Good link that I'll 'borrow it' LOL

    Consumers NZ good on them

  6. Download Speed: 786 kbps (98.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 116 kbps (14.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

I guess im slow as usual. OH im in the states so go figure.
