Tomorrow I have a meeting with a recruiter, after school.

what are things I should ask him.

I want to join the Army, but I'm also looking at the Marines.

He's a Marine Corps recruiter.

  1. Just talk to him and tell him/her alot of things about you. Then ask if they think you would succed in the marines. Ask him what MOS (military ocupational specialty) is right for you, what BCT  (basic combat training) is like, what are the benifits, how long do the average deployements last, etc... But i warn you DO NOT base your final desicion on what the recruiter tells you. He has to make a quota and he may not tell you many negative things about it. After you talk to the recruiter, I suggest you talk to at least 3 people (not recruiters) who have been in the marines and know what its like. Those are the kind of people who will tell you straight forward what it is really like.

    Good Luck

  2. Ask him to take a pre ASVAB test, ask him about educational benefits, ask him about jobs and they're current status such as are they over manned (if they are it makes it hard to get promoted (you will automatically get promoted till about E-4 any job you choose)). then go to the marines the same thing.
