  1. I have listened to him since he took over from cesser the gezzer.  I used to like him, but he got on my nerves more and more each year.  I am now glad he has gone.  He became to arrogant and thought he could get away with any thing.  Time for a change.

  2. Shame that as the longest serving and I would say most popular and most listened to presenter on Talksport !!  But I guess Rules are Rules !!

  3. Another person willing to share his views silenced.

I will miss his show, though the cause is his own fault.

Hope he finds a new home asap.

  4. I shouldn't have thought Talksport had much choice about it Offcom would have demanded a termination of his contract. James was great, but you shouldn't underestimate how serious his breech was.

  5. lets Hope another station snaps him up quick, my husbands a night driver, misses him already,  shame on you talk sport, two listeners down here already.

  6. 1. No it's not fair at all

    2. Yes I will miss him, that is one of the reasons I bought myself a "Talk-sport" DAB.Still they have still got Jon Gaunt.

  7. I think he should have been reprimanded, and not fired. He is outspoken, which is why he has been so popular. The media at large influences political views more than anything else, so the rule smacks of hypocrisy.

I haven't listened to the station for a few years, but I liked listening to him when I did.

  8. Although I disagree with most of his views I found him very entertaining and will miss his programme on Talk Sport..someone else will snap him up soon.

  9. I would never vote Tory in a thousand years, but think he was entitled to his opinion. It's a shame to see him go, especially as he was one of the main reasons that Talk Sport became so successful

  10. First off you can not keep a good man down, the whale will be back.

Yes i will miss James in fact he was the only reason a tuned into talk sport, he was like part of the fixing and fittings been with the station since it's launch in the mid 90's.

Ofcom have a set a rules which James broke, the rules stink, well some of them any way, this is not fair, the guy always told it how it is,you either loved or wanted him dead with his views on things,

the station it's self did not want to let him go but was in fear of being sued, they had to let him go,this was explained to James and he excepted it.Lets face it the whale was a crowd puller, those who listened because they liked him and rang in,those who hated him and rang in to have a go at him.

word as it the whale will be back near the end of the year and if it is true that Virgin  radio have already took a interest in him , they did want him some time ago.

Any way it is wrong, did our fathers or grand fathers not fight for free speech, and this man now loses his job for speaking what he feels.

ofcom are the governing body of radio and TV and they are clamping down more and more these days to the point where you will be afraid to open your mouth on air,

    kind regards x kitti x

"James Whale's contract with the station has been terminated after a breach of the Ofcom Broadcasting Code."

Under Ofcom rules, presenters are banned from showing any bias towards a political party before an election.
