  1. I wouldnt go with a 250 anything for your size..... even a 600R honda is going to seem puny to you.

    Look into a harley buell

  2. I used to believe like many other riders, that the best thing was to start small. I have changed that opinion and NOW I think you should learn how to ride on the bike you intend to ride. If you want to start on a 750, and can hold it up or lift it off the ground when you spill it, then by all means, learn to ride on it! My wife rode her first time last weekend on my 750 Shadow. She is 5' and can put both feet on the ground when stopped. Sems a perfect bike for her and a little low for me.

  3. 6'5 and on a '93 Ninja 500 that I'm told I don't look that ridiculous at all on. It's a tamer sport bike, but by no means weak, it's pretty comfortable and it didn't break my wallet.

Most 250s are just flat out going to be too small for you. I know. I was in your position last month and did all of the research and sit downs. It was a no go, really.

  4. Try the dual sports bike. They are usually high.

  5. Where do you live? In the US, there aren't really a lot of options in a 250cc sport bike. The most ubiquitous one is the Kawasaki Ninja 250cc. Hyosung makes a 250cc sport bike, as well. I think the Honda CBR and Suzuki GSX have 250cc versions sold only in Europe.

I saw a lowered Ninja 250, once. It looked like a pocket bike.

  6. Go to some shops and sit on the bikes to see what fits.

Enduros (dual sport) have the highest seat heights.

  7. A 250 would be way too small for you. You would look like you were riding a mini bike like the Shriners do in parades. I'm only 6' and my first bike was a 700cc Honda Shadow. If you are not sure what you will be comfortable on, go to a dealer-even if you're buying a bike from a private seller. Most salespeople will be glad to help you find something. Who knows, you might even find a great deal on a brand new bike that's left over from a year or two ago. That's how I got my first bike.

  8. I would recomend a Triumph Daytona 600/650 as they are very roomy for a sports bike.

If you need a smaller bike then I maybe be an idea to look towards some of the chinese/korean bikes, they are very large for small capacity bikes
