Tally Stick, worth chancing in Letchworth Couriers/British Stallion Studs E B F Maiden Stakes
Noble Deed takes the eye in Eventmasters.co.uk/British Stallion Studs E B F Maiden Stakes
With so many powerful youngsters in the line-up, it is hard to make a choice in the Letchworth Couriers/British Stallion Studs E B F Maiden Stakes, being held at Kempton on Friday, September 07, 2012. But it could be worth taking a chance with Tally Stick, who makes a lot of appeal on pedigree.
Trained by Mahmood Al Zarooni, the 2-year-old juvenile holds entry for next year’s Group 1 Investec Derby at Epsom. The son of Street Cry out of Echoes In Eternity will be ridden by Ahmed Ajtebi, who took Valley Of Queens to the runner-up spot in late August.
An exciting contest is expected in today’s class 5 meeting. The going is standard for the 1-mile event, which will be started at 18:50 GMT. Including Tally Stick, there are 13 runners in the pack, who will be in pursuit of a cash prize worth £3,235.
Ostaad is another Godolphin-owned colt. Saeed Bin Suroor’s charge also belongs to a good family, and has a good chance of starting his journey with a bang. The 2-year-old will be ridden by an experienced jockey, Frankie Dettori. The rider is a massive plus for Ostaad, but still Tally Stick looks to be in a great position to outclass him.
Eventmasters.co.uk/British Stallion Studs E B F Maiden Stakes is another class 5 event, scheduled to start at 19:20 GMT. The 6-furlong meeting has attracted a dozen entries, and the winning prize is £3,235.
Noble Deed takes the eye on pedigree, and performed superbly on his debut at Newmarket last month. Despite facing a star-studded opposition, the 2-year-old, William Haggas’ trainee, kept his cool, and managed to end up among top-3. His performance was solid enough to suggest that he can go close in this company.
Inka Surprise looks to be the major danger. Trained by Ralph Beckett, the son of Intikhab showed plenty of improvement last time, after finishing eighth on his debut at Newbury in April. Out of others, no one makes much appeal. We wish the best of luck to all the horses.
