Tamagotchi help please!?

my sister has had a tamagotchi v3 for a long time. and i have had a tamagotchi v4 for a while 2. my freind had a v4.5. and i am thinking of getting it myself. but then i found out there was a v5 and it said on the box you can take care of the whole family. but i dont want to. what is the difference between a v4.5 and a v5? what is the difference between a v4 and a v4.5? plese help!
