July 19 vs. Atlanta Dream
In an 84-74 defeat against the Eastern Conference Defending Champion Atlanta on July 19, Catchings finished the night with a game-high 22 points. The 6 ft 1 in forward also pulled down eight rebounds and dished out six assists.
She was 8 for 19 from the field and 6 for 7 from the line.
July 28 vs. Connecticut Sun
Catchings led Indiana with 16 points in their 69-58 victory over the Connecticut Sun on July 28 at the Mohegan Sun Arena. The seven-time WNBA All-Star pulled down six rebounds, had three steals and blocked two shots. She pinned
3 of 3 shots from three-point range and went 5 for 5 from free throw line.
July 29 vs. Washington Mystics
The All-Star forward chipped in with a team-high 16 points on 6 for 12 shooting as Indiana swept the two-game road trip with a hard-fought 61-59 victory over Washington on July 29 at the Verizon Center.
Catchings also pulled down nine rebounds, dealt out five assists and blocked two shots in the game. She scored 11 of her points in the first half of the game and was 2 of 3 from downtown on the night.
August 5 vs. Tulsa Shock
On August 5 at the BOK Center, Catchings posted yet another strong all-around performance as Indiana Fever raced to their fifth straight win, with an 85-65 decision against Tulsa Shock. Catchings racked up 15 points, grabbed four
rebounds, stole the ball twice and blocked two shots and ended the night on a 5 for 9 shooting from the floor, including 2 for 4 from three-point range.
August 9 vs. San Antonio Silver Stars
On August 9, Catchings erupted with a game-high 21 points, including nine in the fourth quarter, as Indiana Fever routed the San Antonio Silver Stars 81-68 at Conseco Fieldhouse. The All-Star forward grabbed six rebounds; dealt
out three assists and blocked three shots in more than 32 minutes. She hit 7 of 13 field goals and all three of her shots from downtown that night.
August 13 vs. New York Liberty
On August 13 at the Conseco Fieldhouse, Catchings put on a show. Fever’s leading scorer was in the form of her life that night as she scorched New York Liberty with a career-high 32 points.
In that game, Catchings also became just the sixth WNBA player to score 5,000 points with a brilliant jumper at 03:16 mark in the opening period. Catching finished off proceedings on a 7 for 12 shooting from the field and 17 for
19 from the line.
“Catch is a multidimensional player,'' Indiana coach Lin Dunn said after the game. “She gets assists, she gets steals, she gets rebounds, she scores and she defends like nobody else in the league.”
