Tamira Paszek avenges loss against Petra Cetkovska in 2nd round – China Open 2011

Austrian Tamira Paszek avenged her loss against the higher ranked Czech, Petra Cetkovska in the second round of the China Open 2011 on Monday the 3rd of October. The two battled out on outdoor hard courts for two hours
and four minutes on outdoor hard courts of the National Tennis Center in Beijing, China. Paszek bounced back from a set down to conquer 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory against Cetkovska to secure a berth in the third round.
Serving for the first round of the match was Cetkovska and she was able to bag a quick game to move the scoreboard at 1-0. She then dominated the game as she capitalized on an early break and as she held serve again in the third
game, she was leading with a 3-0. Like an unstoppable force she further capitalized on another breakpoint to reel off a 4-0 lead against Cetkovska.
Paszek made a return in the fifth game by breaking Cetkovska but it was too late and it was the only game that she could squander off against her adversary who had bagged a total of six games to one.  As Cetkovska used the break
and serve method, she had easily conquered the opening set with a 6-1 victory.
Opting to serve for the second set was Paszek and after taking a thrashing in the initial set, she pulled up her socks and was ready to take on her opponent. Paszek slapped Cetkovska on the face by repeating the assault of first
holding and then by capitalizing on an early break to lead with a 2-0.
However, her lead was ephemeral as Cetkovska broke back immediately in the next game and by holding her serve in the fourth; she tied the scoreboard at 2-2. In the fifth and the sixth game Paszek again took a lead of two games
against Cetkovska. The Czech again balanced the score at 4-4 by breaking and then holding serve in the eighth game. During the last two games Paszek was fortunate enough to win a game on her serve and then another on her opponents serve, Thus by capitalizing
on the last breakpoint, she bagged the set with a 6-4 victory.
The decisive set was opened by Paszek and in the following three games the players held serve and were able to place themselves on the scoreboard at 2-1. However, Paszek was first to take the lead as she broke Cetkovska in the
fourth game and then as she held serve in the fifth, she was leading with a good 4-1 score. In the following three games the players broke each other back-to-back but Paszek had capitalized on two breaks and in doing so, she had won the set and the match.
