Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano facing difficulties in shaping coaching staff - NFL News
New Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano has already run into problems as he looks to put together his coaching staff for the new season.
The Green Bay Packers have refused to provide permission to Tampa Bay Buccaneers to let them interview their tight ends coach Ben McAdoo for the role of offensive coordinator.
Packers who lost offensive coordinator Joe Philbin recently as he became the Miami Dolphins head coach have been refusing teams from interviewing their highly respected assistant coaches.
Philbin himself had previously requested to interview McAdoo for the offensive coordinator role at the Dolphins and was similarly refused permission.
Schiano has to put together his coaching team as soon as possible before the end of the off season. The first time National Football League (NFL) head coach has been facing problems. His first choice to bring in Arizona Cardinals wide receivers coach John
McNulty to the Buccaneers were similarly hampered by the Cardinals.
The consistent refusals from franchises to let their coaches’ interview for the role may force Schiano and the Buccaneers to bring in more college team coaches to the franchise.
Schiano joined the Buccaneers after Tampa Bay fired previous coach Raheem Morris after a 4-12 season and some of the worst performances ever given by a professional team in the NFL.
The Buccaneers had a horrible season losing their last ten games and fans disenchantment with the franchise kept growing with each poor performance.
After sacking Morris, the Glazers who own the franchise vowed to conduct a thorough search for a new head coach.
The Bucs initially took to interviewing veteran coaches with years of experience in the league yet finally settled with Schiano after he impressed the management in his interviews with his achievements with the Rutgers.
Now though Schiano is finding it difficult to complete his backroom staff with tested coaches and the hiring of more assistant’s from college level will resonate with fans in the same manner as Raheem Morris’s regime which also failed due to its relative
inexperience at the professional level.
It is still the honeymoon period for Schiano and Tampa Bay Buccaneers and there is still a lot of time left before the end of the offseason to hire other prospects.
