Tampa Bay Buccaneers set to host Philadelphia Eagles – NFL Week 14 Preview
As the season nears its end, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-6) are hoping for more victories. On Sunday, December 9, 2012, they are going to host Week 14 game against Philadelphia Eagles at Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, FL.
Eagles have not touched victory for two months while the Bucs have performed better than the Eagles throughout the season.
Eagles have lost eight games in a row, which is their worst record in the National Football League (NFL) history.
Eagles rookie quarterback Nick Foles has started four games but could not help save his team from the loss. He has completed 81 of 133 passes for 793 yards and scored two touchdowns and three interceptions.
Eagles head coach Andy Reid announced Foles as a starting quarterback, after Michael Vick’s concussion. According to him, Foles is a hard working smart guy.
He said:
“What he's done is, he's gotten better each week, and that's all I ask from him as the season goes on, to just continue to improve your game and work hard and put your team in a position to win football games."
He added:
"No. 1, I just think he's playing well enough to where I think he can win football games for us. And No. 2, I think where we sit at this position in the season, I think it's the right thing to do."
Eagles lost their last game against National Football Conference (NFC) East opponents Dallas Cowboys, 38-33. Foles was 22 of 34 for 251 yards and scored a touchdown. His progress can be seen easily in this game.
Running back LeSean McCoy got concussed during the game and he will not be available for Sunday’s game.
With the bad record of winning three and losing nine games this season, Eagles have no chance of reaching the playoffs.
They had one turnover and a penalty in the last game, on which Reid said:
"Their preparation, they're working their tail off to get better. That's an important thing at this point."
On the other hand, Buccaneers are struggling to get the NFC final wild card spot.
After winning four games in a row, they have lost two straight. They are standing at 2nd position in NFC South, and it is their best chance to gain another win in the season, as Eagles are the lowest ranked team in NFC East.
Buccaneers lost their last game against the leaders of American Football Conference (AFC) West Denver Broncos, 31-23.
