The most recent meeting between the two teams saw Martin St. Louis bagging two goals as well who is getting into a habit of scoring against the Sabres which makes the game all the more exciting. Both teams are coming up with strong and consistent performances
recently. The reason for this is the fact that they both have a very tough competition in the department of goal keeping which has raised the standards.
Tampa Bay Lightning traded Dwayne Roloson from the New York Islanders and after his inclusion in the squad, Tampa Bay Lightning haven’t scored at least a point in their last 15 matches not losing any game in regulation time. This all is the reason behind

back Sabres have lost only two games in regulation time out of the 28 games they have played which has put them back into contention for a play-off position.
Buffalo Sabres were piling up decent results until they lost the game against the 3-2 loss against the Pittsburgh Penguins. However, they managed to learn from their mistakes and won the match against the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-2 comfortably. During the game
the Sabres established an early 4-0 lead which saw Thomas Vanek making two assists.
"If we want to get into the playoffs we have to make sure that we do the right things to get the wins," Vanek said. "I think in Pittsburgh we kind of just sat back and let them take the game to us."
Buffalo Sabres has played 51 games of the season so far out of which they have won 24 games in regulation time, 5 games in overtime scoring 53 points. Tampa Bay Lightning on the other hand have played 54 games out which they have won 33 games in regulation
time, 5 games in overtime and scored 71 points.
Tampa Bay Lightning has emerged as one of the strong teams in the season and is a strong contender for a place in the Stanley Cup Final. Tampa Bay Lightning won their last game on Sunday with a seven seconds remaining in overtime with Captain Vincent Lecavalier
scoring as Tampa Bay Lightning won the match 4-3.
"He was flying," Coach Guy Boucher said of Lecavalier. "To me, by far, this was his best game of the year."
