Tampa Bay Lightning has been rated as the second best sports’ franchise in the sports world according to ESPN magazine which will hit stands on Friday. This report comes annually and ranks teams of all four major American sports based on different criteria.
Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL) has been named the No.1 while the National Hockey League (NHL) comes in at the second spot because of Tampa Bay Lightning.
Along with the NFL and NHL, the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Major League Baseball (MLB) are also taken into consideration and a total of 122 teams were under observation.
The teams are graded on different categories which include bang for the buck which is the consideration of the teams’ ranking and revenue collection during the past three years along with fan grading, ownership, affordability, stadium experience, players,
coaching and finally title track from over 70,000 fans all over.
"The best teams in sports find ways to reward their fans' devotion”, ESPN Magazine’s editor, Peter Keating, said in a press release. "The teams at the top of our Ultimate Standings are winners on the field, but as we write in the magazine, they're truly
notable for returning fans' love -- keeping core players, discounting tickets, investing in their communities”.

Lightning has one of the best managements amongst all the NHL franchises which include general manager, Steve Yzerman, and head coach, Guy Boucher, who are both one of the youngest in their fields and one of the most respected.
Tampa Bay made the biggest improvement in the list from being number 70 last year to 68 places up into second.
Even during the regular season, Lightning was out of the playoff’s race at one time but eventually jumped back into the fifth position of the Eastern Conference.
