Tampa Bay Lightning to feature 2012 event – Tampa Bay Pro-Am
Outbаck Steakhouse Pro-Am, one of the best events on the Champions Tour, will return to the 2012 schedule with а new name as Tampa Bay Pro-Am.
The Tampa Bay Pro-Am Foundation, Inc. made the announcement on December 31, 2011, and said that Tampa Bay Lightning will host an event in 2012.
Tampa Bay Lightning will host the prestigious Pro-Am event from April 9 to 15 at the TPC Tampa Bay in Lutz, FL. A number of professional golfers are looking forward to appearing in the tournament.
"We are committed to keeping this prestigious Champions Tour event in the Tampa Bay market and continuing our legacy of giving to our charitable causes each year," said Chris Sullivan, Outback Steakhouse Co-Founder and 2012 Tournament Co-Chairman.
"Through the support of the Tampa Bay Lightning, PGA TOUR, our key community sponsors, and the strong community effort, we are excited to be moving forward in 2012 with a new name, but the same exceptional event," concluded Sullivan.
The tournament officials are still in search of a title sponsor. However, until they do not find any, the Tampa Bay & Company, Tampa Bay Lightning and some other existing sponsors may contribute to the tournament and make it a success in the coming editions.
According to the officials, title sponsor for the tournament will soon be found and negotiations with some of the companies are in progress.
The Tampa Bay area has continuously produced a thrilling experience on the Champions Tour with the Pro-Am event. As a result, the tournament has also contributed to the charities across the area and benefited the community.
Paul Catoe, CEO of Tampa Bay & Company, said that it was an honour to be partnered with Pro-Am and taking it to the next level is more pleasing.
The Tampa Bay Pro-Am is one of the reasons why people from different places visit the area and enjoy their stay.
It will be the 25th year for the tournament to be held in Tampa Bay area. Ticket holders of the Tampa Bay Lightning season will get free admissions to the golf course during the tournament.
