Tampa Bay Rays’ David Price looking to halt Texas Rangers in American League Division Series
The Tampa Bay Rays are currently tied 1-all with the Texas Rangers in the American League Division Series and their situation is bound to change on Monday, October 3 when they take on their rivals at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg.
The club will bring David Price on to the mound for this encounter and it seems he will be ready for the challenge when it comes knocking at his door. He shared a few words with the press from his club’s headquarters on Sunday, October 2.
Price remembers the humiliation he faced when the Rangers’ Cliff Lee struck him out of two games in the Division Series, last year. However Lee is not with the Texans anymore and the visiting American League West Champions will be bringing on Colby Lewis
for the challenge. Price however is not afraid to get the job done.
"It is tough to forget about it," Price said. "It is two postseason losses but it is something that I think about and something that I want to get over with. I am not intimidated by this lineup by any means, or anything like that, but it is a very good offensive
lineup and they make it tough to pitch."
Price has another perplexing statistical bearing on his sleeve that needs cleaning. The star has been 0-3 against the Rangers in 2011 and his earned run average of 5.67 is less than satisfying. The situation could not be better for the hurler as he looks
to put the previous losses behind him. The Rays know this a test of his character and his temperament. The club has belief in the star and that matters a lot to any pitcher.
The Rays will be looking to put in a good performance and dominate the Rangers early in the game. Price is fired up and confident that he can guide his team to victory. It will be interesting to see how Price manages to pitch and halt the surging Rangers
from grabbing another victory.
