Tampa Bay Rays officially released pitcher Matt Bush – MLB Update
Tampa Bay Rays have officially released pitcher Matt Bush. This is a huge step by the organisation that they finally decided to release their potential player who has been considered extremely talented from very beginning of his career.
He was charged in a Driving under Influence (DUI) hit-and run last winter during the 2012 Spring Training outing which is the biggest reason why Rays have released him.
"The Tampa Bay Rays organization is deeply saddened by today's tragic news. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim and his family. We will reserve further comment until we learn more about the incident that took place," a statement by the Rays’ management
after Bush’s negligence.
Not only this particular incident, but there are many happenings which are directly related to Bush regarding DUI and off the field misconducts,.
"Like Josh (Hamilton) has said, you have people to talk to, You need to let people know about things because I know, with this disease, it's not very good when you keep it all to yourself. If you don't tell people, then you might feel you can get away with
[drinking]. The next thing you know, you're having a catastrophe." Bush said once of Rangers Josh Hamilton on similar kind of incident.
Many experts are saying that the decision of releasing Bush from the organisation was already on the cards. In the recent past, Matt Bush was removed from the Rays 40-man roster when he pleaded not guilty on multiple charges related to certain crash.
His involvement with these types of incidents and misconducts has created many problems for him. Being as overall first draft pick in 2004 Major League Baseball Draft, Bush still has not played a professional baseball game in the big league.
His professional life which has struck hard and derailed by personal and legal issues, certainly barred him achieving consistency in his career.
During his time at Mission Bay High School, the Padres’ scouts found him and reported their management about Bush. The Padres executives agreed and drafted him in 2004 and signed him for $3,150,000 signing bonus.
