Tampa Bay Rays’ pitcher Wade Davis might not be traded – MLB News
Recently, several reports have come out in the media that Tampa Bay Rays’ starting pitcher Wade Davis is soon to be traded. However, these rumours have not changed Davis’ status in the Rays’ roster. He is not only staying with the team but he himself rejected all the speculation about his departure.
Davis on this particular matter also spoke in the media stating that he does not even know why his trade rumours is in the limelight at the moment as he is doing well with the Rays.
Wade said, “Not a t all, because I know most of that stuff is not always what you think it is, anyway. The majority of it is all rumours. Most of it isn't legit. I took a look at them just to see what's going on, but I don't pay attention to them anymore.”
He added, “I've heard everybody's name at least getting tossed around in conversations this year. It doesn't really bother. I know this is a business and they are something you have to get used to. I don't think the rumours will ever die off. We'll see what happens this spring training.”
In the meanwhile, Davis is also excited for the upcoming 2012 MLB regular season. Back home in Tampa Bay, he is working hard to get in perfect shape to play well and achieve good results for his team.
On contrary to Davis preparations, some experts believe that the Rays’ executive vice president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman has worked hard and did a good job giving confidence to Davis. Friedman extensively believed that at a certain stage, Davis will be a key player for the Rays which turned out to be true. Not only now the Rays’ management recognise his importance and also publically say that Davis has come a long way in their franchise and will be a key player for future seasons.
If anyone compiles all these facts about Davis and how his team thinks of him, the conclusion will be very close as he certainly is a potential player for the Tampa Bay Rays’ success in the near future. It will be interesting to see how well he performs during the 2012 regular season.
