I was wondering wether there is a place or not at the vaginal opening that might get a little bit irritated by the string of a tampon.

  1. Anything is possable , maybe you should use a lubricant to insert the tampon and then it may also soften the string  Only lube the tip of the tampon not the string . The lubricant will already be on the opening.

  2. Its possible to get irritated by the string, tampons tend to dry you out a bit and make the v****a a bit tender.  A great thing to do is just push the string just up inside the v****a so its not hanging down.  Its very easy just to pull it back out again.  And you dont have to worry about it being seen.

  3. Nope. If there was, no one would wear tampons! You've got nothing to worry about :)

  4. Potentially, the string could irritate the vaginal opening, yes, but it shouldn't be a problem in your day to day. Even high friction activities, such as bike riding, don't normally cause problems, but I suppose that if the string was in just the wrong place that it might. I try to make sure I keep the string out of the lips, because that really can start to hurt after a while. Don't be afraid to use tampons, though. If you use them correctly, they are perfectly safe.

If you're experiencing vaginal irritation, I'd forget about the tampons altogether temporarily and just stick to pads. Let your body clean itself up. Meanwhile, think about what else could be causing the problem: rough/too much s*x/masturbation, other activities, soaps, detergents, etc.
