Question:

Tampon hurt even when full?

I wore a tampon for about the fifth time today, I've never really used them before as I prefer pads but I was told that you shouldn't remove a tampon unless its fully absorbed. Anyway, today I wore a tampon to school for the first time and wore a pad as well just in case. When I got home there was some extra blood on the pad - the tampon was only in for approx. four hours but I have a heavy flow. When I tried to remove the tampon it REALLY hurt. When it has hurt before I just thought it was because it was dry. Now, it was wet and it still hurt. Im using slims (the aus equivalent of mini) so des this mean I'm simply not used to it or I've heard it can be the way your body is. I know that tampons are much easier but I really don't want to have as much pain. Help please!

  1. Your not the only one, today i used a tampon it didnt hurt when i put it in but when i took it out it hurt like a son of a gun but the first time i used a tampon it was tampax pearl lights and it didnt hurt when i took it out but when i used a regular thats when it really hurt so you might just have to use a smaller tampon. But i do recomend the tampax compacts they work like a regular but go in and out like a light hope this helps good luck..

  2. This is happening to me as well, today actually. And mine was fully absorbed also, but it hurt getting it out. But I found out that when you take it out you have to REALLY relax your muscles, and pull it out really fast. If you do it slowly because you're avoiding the pain it only hurts more and lasts longer.. Hope that helped!
