okay i use the playtex gentle glide, they work really good for me blah blah blah. haha what i'm asking is that:

okay my period is pretty light. its only sorta heavy 1 or 2 days. if i use a regular tampon, when i don't bleed that much, but leave it in for 4-6 hours and keep changing it, am i in danger to get toxic shock syndrome? or do you only get that if you don't change your tampon enough? please answer, thank you!!! :D

  1. Yea, i've left mine in for much longer and i'm fine...i think you're supposed to change them every 6 hours...the box should tell you. I think TSS is pretty rare.

  2. your fine. you can only get it if its in there for a long long time. i leave them in for that long maybe even longer never been to the hospital

  3. i love that kind. and the same thing happens to me. i have left mine in for like 8hrs before, so i think you're good. also, guess what? :) playtex has a box with regular annnd junior/lite tampons in it! try using the lites they work nicely. however, the lite tampax brand is terrible. don't use those. i don't even know how people can get them in, the cardboard applicator is really rough and pokey.

  4. 4-6 hours is fine. You can get TSS if, for example, you sleep in tampons or something. Which would be like 8 hours or more. sometimes i get really busy and i'll have my tampon in for 7 to 8 hours. which only happens very rarely so i guess keeping it in that long is alright. but yeah youre fine.

  5. they can be left in up to 8 hours

  6. ohh yeahh 4 to 6 hours is fine .. i have left mine in longer before i have never had a problem your not in risk..

  7. Well, you should use the juniors size tampon for the days when it is lighter. You have a higher risk for TSS if you use a tampon too absorbent. But also, you should change it every 4-6 hrs. But still, TSS is a very rare disease.
