Tampon questions, help, and advice?

You guys are probably tired of these. xD

Last time I tried to use a tampon, I was too nervous to get it in anywhere. I forgot the angle and was afraid I was doing it wrong... I didn't even HAVE the box to read, my mom tried to show me with the air and that didnt go well. So I'm wondering how to put one in. Is it like fingering yourself? Same angle and everything? And also, does it hurt? And does it hurt to remove it when you have a light flow? And how long did you wait to use a tampon?

  1. when i first started my period i put my tampons in wrong and it really hurt to walk... i've never fingered myself but i believe it is in the same spot the you put your tampon in. it doesn't really hurt to remove if you do it quickly. and i used a tampon the first time i got my period but you can start using them whenever you want. usually around the 2nd or 3rd month i would guess.. good luck. the first few time you may get it wrong but after a while you'll get a hang of it :)

  2. It shouldn't hurt.

I'll let Tampax describe the procedure for you though... they have a nice step-by-step guide, including illustrations.

  3. okay heres what you do, i did this my first time

stand up and put one foot on the toilet. insert the tampon between your lips of your v****a. insert it at an angle (in the direction of the front of you sort of) just take a lot of deep breaths and sort of go with the flow in there. go slow also, it helps :) it should insert rather smoothly if you are relaxed. take A LOT of deep breaths and dont stop breathing or you will tighten up. make sure to look at what you are doing. insert it until your fingers (holding the tampon at the grip) are touching your v****a. then you want to press it in. but make sure to relax. you are gonna wanna gasp because it feels uncomfortable but if you put it in right and all the way you should have a string hanging out. and it shouldnt feel uncomfortable if you did it right. also, after you insert it just breathe and get over your nerves for a moment. i like the plastic applicators because they go in smoother. dont use a big one at first, just start off with a small one and dont leave it in too long. i think the intervals are like 4-6 hours, 6-8 hours, 8-10 hours and so on. just use the small ones first. dont be nervous and good luck :) i hope i helped :D

try inserting it after you go pee, it may help some of the hurt.

when you take it out just dont forget to breathe and be relaxed or it wont come out.

  4. No, it's not like fingering yourself.

However, if you have done this before, it may be less uncomfortable.

It doesn't HURT, it's just uncomfortable. I always try to do it right after I urinate to make it less dry and less friction-that's a bit painful.

Same thing with removing it-just pee first and you don't even feel it.

I got my period in 5th grade so I waited about a year or so before I used tampons. i was just as nervous but it's really no big deal.

And as far as angles? There's only one way it can go babe.

  5. puting in a tampon the first time may be uncomfortable and feel weird when u walk but and yes itis sorta like fingering ur self. when u remove it it might hurt and/or feel weird it depends

  6. It's like fingering in the sense that it goes up the same hole.

All you do is prop one foot up on the toilet and insert.

If you're having trouble I recommend the plastic applicator rather than cardboard.

    It doesn't hurt at all.

Not even if the flow is light.

I think I waited a year after I first got my period.

  7. I guess its more of a trial and error type thing. The more you practice, or do it, the more comfortable it will feel. It might hurt a little if you're not used to it. Depends on the person really. When your flow is light, it is better to use a light, other wise it will hurt when removing it. I used a tampon right when I first got my period, but that was mainly because I had to. I played basketball, and when your in a basketball game pads do not work out too well. :D
