Question:

Tampons and pool party?

Im 14 and have used only 1 tampon like a year ago, easy to insert and comfortable but took time to take out (didnt really hurt but i think i should have relaxed more). The reason I havent tried them again is because I NEVER have the time when i get it. For example, in july I went to disney right when it came and usually im in lots of school and sports. So of course my best friend is having a we-are-being-dragged-back-to-school-agai... pool party on sunday, which should be my second day. Actually she lives on a lake so i guess its not a pool party...I could try one on saturday, but she asked me to sleep over her house the day before. ugh. So basically I will be at her house all from saturday morning to sunday night. The pool party is 5 hours long and i have a medium flow (although its hard to tell because all months are different flows although they follow a "schedule")

So my questions are...

How often should I change it?

How long does it take to put one in? (i dont want to take an hour in the bathroom but I AM going swimming)

does water get in at all?

any tips would be helpful!

o-and i have playtex sporrt regular if that helps

  1. How often should I change it?

Depends on your flow, if it's heavy i'd change it very frequently if not, then maybe every couple of hours or when you go to the restroom.

How long does it take to put one in?

As fast as changing a pad once you get the hang of it.

does water get in at all?   no

    Here's a website for you,

  2. well, i don't really get how you say you don't have 'time' to use a tampon, because they take the same amount of time to put in as a pad does, and you change them less often. so that doesn't make sense.. but anyways; you have to change it every 6-8 hours [don't leave it in ANY longer than 8 hours!] it takes like... 5 seconds to put it in..! its really not as hard as you think..! :) water doesn't get in it at all, no... playtex sport is good! good luck. oh, and to see how to put in a tampon [well, their are directions in the tampon box, but otherwise, you can go to this website]..

  3. It should take 2 sec to insert it if you know how...you should change it every 3-4 hours if your swimming b/c the water does seep in a lil not much but to make sure you don't leak just change often you should be fine....don't worry so much you will be fine

  4. Putting in a tampon takes no time at all. It takes some getting used to and you may have to take an extra minute or two if you are nervous and tense. Try squatting a little or even putting one foot on the toilet seat to help the insertion go easier. If it's hard or hurts then use a smaller size tampon. I always use regular tampax compak ones, but thats just because i prefer them.

You should change it about every 4 hours. If you take it out earlier it may be too dry and be a little more uncomfortable to take out, but if you leave it in too long and it is full you may get a little bit of spotting on your bathing suit (usually nothing that will leak through).

Water won't get in there, you'll be fine! It's a breeze when you get used to it!

  5. You should change it every 3-4 hours since you are in the water. It takes about 5 seconds to put one in. water does get it but it doesnt matter. make sure the lil string is inside you bething suit and when you pull it out just breath nd pull it will be ok
