Will using a tampon hurt and I am 14 am I too young to use one?

  1. if your a virgin it will hurt the first couple times you use a tampon hahaha

I started using tampons around 14 (I'm 23 now).  It did hurt a little bit at first, but you just have to keep trying until you figure it out.  Tampons are so much more convenient and comfortable than pads, once you get used to them.  It just takes a little practice.  If it's uncomfortable or you're having trouble getting it in, try it at a different angle.  Also, don't worry about putting it in the wrong hole, or losing it inside of you, or anything like that.  That is practically impossible.  And just in case you don't know (I didn't at first), you can still pee with it in.

    and it wont hurt ... its fun to wear ...

I can't use them, and never coould, but from my firends and my OB/GYN: always  start usingthe smallest size first.  your body will feel uncomfortable about the 'intrusion' at first, so let it get used to the idea by trying them before  your period so that you can feel more confidnet and have some practice at changing your tampons.  Most makers of tampons have general insturction pamphlets inside he box, and give you various ways to  become more comfortable with their use.  Use the smallest size taht is effective and comfortable for you.  Your period flow will help you determine what size and absorbancy wil lbe best for you.  Like anuything new it wil ltake a bit of practice for you to 'get it right', but don't worry, just practice <BEFORE< your period, as you wil lbe moe relaxed when you dont have to worry about 'gettign it right', and when you period does come, you will be more confident about it.

  5. it's not like there's an age to use them.

    use like the slim ones, or the 'teen ones.'

    if not you can just use a pad, and try again.

    don't stress about it, it will make it harder.

  6. Your not too young and it won't hurt. However if you don't insert it right it can be uncomfortable, but they have instructions for this so don't worry. It may take a couple of tries to get it right (took me nearly a whole box lol) so use one for the time when you are alone and can work out how to put them in.

  7. I promise that it will not hurt. Just follow the instructions that come in the box. I'm fourteen too and I use them, with absolutely no problems. :)

  10. No, you aren't too young. When they are inserted correctly they don't hurt at all. Buy Junior or Teen sized ones at first and they will be easier to put in. Also, try inserting one on a day when your flow is pretty heavy.

  11. it might if your cherry hasn't popped yet... try the slender kind...and p.s. don't go off and have s*x just to pop it and no you are not too young anyone who has started their menstrual cycle can use one.

  14. No it doesn't hurt and no you aren't too young.

  15. They are only uncomfortable if you don't insert them high enough. Read the directions carefully, and relax your muscles.  Make sure you change them accordinly, it's not good to leave the same one in too long.  Also, make sure you don't use them at the very end of your period when it will stay dry because then it will hurt to take it out.  

    If they are put in properly, you can't even tell they are in there so I really recommend them!

  18. You are not too young to use one.  It may have been inserted incorrectly, or you may be using one that is too large.

  19. It should not hurt after the first few times. However, I would not recommend using one since they can rip your hymen.

  21. oh no! perfect age actually. tampons are waaaay better than pads you dont even feel them, AND yu dont have to sit in your freakin blood all day =P so theyre great. buy plastic, not carboard! theyre easier and more comfy although more expensive. asking a mom or sister would be weird and embarrassing i think...so if i were you i would make friends with the directions on the box :) it will prolly take a few tries the first time...you kinda gotta practice yourself! if you feel any discomfort you dont have it in right or your flow is too light for the tampon. theyre convenient and you can go swimming....

  23. No! I started last summer, and I was 14! It was 2 days before we left to go to Florida and I knew I wouldn't be able to swim if I had to wear a pad. I called my friend up and got her to talk me into wearing a tampon. I didn't really understand how to insert them, so if you don't understand feel free to email me at famous_loovex3@yahoo.com, i'm open to answering any questions. I was scared at first, but all you have to do is make sure you keep clean and wash your hands before and after. Also, make sure make sure you change it every 4-8 hours, depending on how heavy your flow is.

  24. no it wont , just relax and of course your not to young to use them.But there not for every girl.  i started at 12 and immediately started using tampons without hassle but my friend says they give her back pain.

  27. No and no.  Just be sure to use the smaller ones at first and change them often.  Use pads as well with the tampons.

    Edit: I forgot to tell you to change tampons when one becomes full, or every two hours(about), whichever happens first.

  28. no one is too young to use a tampon. i was 14 too wen i started and i have always used tampons and never used a pad. Before you use one make sure you read the leaflet carefully and get the right size for your flow. Sit on the toilet lie back and insert, it shouldnt hurt, it didnt hurt me. Make sure you wash your hands too before inserting thm and taking them out. Good Luck

  30. no it doesn't hurt. At first when i pulled it out it did cause ur walls are really tight but after it didn't. Ur not too young cause i stared to use them when i was 12
