Tan Boon Heong and Koo Kien Keat work hard in training sessions – Badminton news
In a bid to revive their form, Tan Boon Heong and Koo Kien Keat are putting their maximum effort in training sessions and they have shown considerable improvement at the national training camp in Kuala Lumpur.
The struggling duo of Boon Heong and Kien Keat, who are ranked at number six in the Men’s Doubles world placements, are working under the changed training programme in order to get rid of their quivering performance and get back on track for upcoming events.
Currently, Boon Heong and Kien Keat seem committed as they are showing their involvement in training and are expected to display an elevated game in the forthcoming events.
They will play a key role in the team-event tournament of Thomas Cup Qualifying Round, which will start from Monday, February 13, in Macau.
Roesdi Ghani, the physical trainer of Lee Chong Wei, is also working on Boon Heong and Kien Keat for the national training camp and the shuttlers are showing improvement in their physical strength.
Boon Heong and Kien Keat proved their superior skills against Teo Kok Siang and Goh V Shem in a simulation match and won it without any considerable effort.
Boon Heong said that he with his partner has improved in the training sessions and winning against the compatriots is quite satisfactory.
He said, "It is always a struggle against our teammates in training but we won the simulation match quite comfortably. I think our condition has improved and we are more confident now. I struggled in the first two weeks but can now cope with the heavy load of training and I want to win my matches and help Malaysia qualify for the final rounds.”
While talking about the qualifying matches of Thomas Cup Finals, Boon Heong said that the duo will try to win all matches.
He said, "I know how important it is to win the first doubles as we can give our team a good lead as Lee Chong Wei should win the first singles.”
Boon Heong and Kien Keat are now proceeding in the right direction by putting maximum effort in training and are determined to earn glory for Malaysia in the upcoming team-event championship.
