Question:

Tandem/toddler nursing?

I am 37 weeks pregnant with my third child. My second child was nursing happily until a few months ago when it became too painful for me. My daughter understood and didn't want to hurt me, so she stopped nursing. She plans to start nursing again after the baby comes.

Has anyone else had a toddler who stopped nursing (on their own or not) for months then returned to the breast? Did they remember right away what to do or did it take a while? Did they want to nurse all the time like the baby?

I'm just interested in your stories.

  1. she plans baby that plan do not need breast milk heheheh  I know what you mean though  I am pregnant and still breast feeding my son I have decided to stop when he is 10 months so he has time to let go of the breast and wont get jealous when the new baby starts to feed.  sorry it didn't really answer your question did it .

  2. Not me personally, but a friend. Her son was very eager to return to nursing as soon as she let him, which was in the middle of her pregnancy. Even when her milk dried up, he still nursed. He is still nursing now that the baby is here several times a day. He is age 2.
