Tania Elosegui chats about the Olympic Games
The Olympics are in full swing at London and the fans are cheering for the home teams everywhere. Spanish golfer Tania Elosegui is also among the millions of the Olympics fans. She recently has a conversation about the Games.
The first question was the most common one, her favourite Olympic sports. She surprised everyone when she said that she is into tracks and field events and is a pole vault fan.
Her choice of favourite Olympics athletes also reflected this opinion. In women athletes, she said that she likes the 400 m runners and in men, she prefers 100m sprinters. In pole vault, she named the Russian pole vault athlete Yelena Isinbayeva.
Even though she is a great fan of the Olympics, Elosegui will not be there in London to attend the Games in person.
When asked about her favourite Olympics Games, she promptly named the 1992 Barcelona Olympics as her favourite. She said that she liked the Barcelona Olympics because they were held in Spain and because of the spectacular opening ceremony that preceded the
games.
In answer to another question, she said that she has played tennis and football.
When asked about her favourite moment in Olympics, she named the Michael Phelps and his eight medals. She is a great fan of the American swimmer and is very sure that his feat will not be repeated in the history of the Games.
Tania Elosegui said that she is very interested in athletics and swimming, and always watches the swim meets of the Olympics.
When asked if she had met any Olympians, she replied that she has not met any.
A question that is often asked of the golfers is, if they were not playing golf, which Olympic sport they would go into?
Tania Elosegui said that she would have gone into tennis and long jump. She is a great fan of track and field events and a career in long jump would have suited her.
The final question was the most important. She was asked about her opinion on the inclusion of golf in the Olympics. She said that she hopes that this step will introduce golf to countries that rarely practice it now.
