My tank has not cycled (no real nitrates to speak of) and could that be the reason my hornwort (submersum) is not growing? Light is 15 watts and and temp is about 74/75.

  1. How many gallons is your tank?

The light may not be strong enough

  2. i don't know what is wrong with your tank but here are the conditions in my tank when i got my hornwort

    150 gallon

had been running for 2 months before adding the plant (guess its cycled)

120 watts of light (nowhere near the required light for plants)

    84 degrees F

using Kent Freshwater Plant  Supplement (i don't know if it     works or not cuz i stopped using it for a week and my plants seem to be doing alright)

25% water change once a week

in one month my hornwort has nearly doubled its length. They are the fastest growing plants i have!

  3. Your tank will take a few weeks to cycle,so how long has the Horn wort been in there? It won't grow over-night.  It takes time for everything to balance out and establish a plant-friendly system.
