Tankless hot water heater?

We are considering at buying a tankless hot water heater in Canada, we were looking at the ones at Home Depot and are not sure what the best brand is? Also What benifits are there with this unit and what is the % in savings of electricity and gas Thanks...

  1. I, too, looked into these.  I might be wrong, but I think that if you have a tankless water heater installed you have to have a ventilation system also.  I think you have to have them flushed out annually, too.  They are much more expensive than standard water heaters but they have many benefits.  You never run out of hot water (within reason) and it only heats water when it's needed.

You can find a lot of info about tank less water heaters if you do a web search with yahoo only for Canadian sites I was looking myself the other day they come in a few different sizes depends on your water needs they are more expensive but they are much more efficient than the tank ones plus the tank ones always rust out the next time I buy it will be tank less also there are federal grants for more efficient systems I don't know which province you are in but in BC there are provincial grants too.
