Tanner Hall gets back in the pipe at Park City
Inspired Media Concepts released a video on Sunday, December 25, featuring the American free-skiing phenom Tanner Hall skiing half-pipe at Park City in Utah, America.
The video shows the 28-year-old Hall pulling off alley-oops on pipe walls before landing a cork 900 on the right wall.
"JUST HAD THE BEST DAY IN SO LONG WAS REAL NICE TO GET BACK IN THE PIPE AFTER A LONG TIME. LET THE FUN BEGIN!!! INSPIRED!" read Hall’s twitter update on December 23.
While the tricks featured in the video were hardly enough to convince anyone that Hall is ready to return to competitions as a formidable threat, they clearly showed that the American freeskier had made significant progress since getting forced out of competitions due to an injury two and a half years ago.
It was the first time the 28-year-old Hall was seen skiing pipe since May 2009. Skiing at the Stevens Pass in Washington, the Kalispell-based rider had accidently overshot a jump, which resulted in a crash. He sustained serious injuries, which included tibial plateau fractures, as well as ACL tears in both knees.
The injury had put Hall out of action for the rest of the season and kept him off skis for most part of 2010. Even though he returned to training in summer of 2010 after a series of surgeries, he was still far from regaining the fitness to get back into competitions.
Since then, he has undergone prolotherapy at the Ongley Institute in Ensenada, Mexico, in October last year. The regenerative injections proved to be quite effective for Hall, enabling him to get back to high intensity training.
Following the prolotherapy, videos of Hall practising on trampoline begin to hit the internet, giving his fans some hope as the videos showed the American free-skier exhibiting confidence, showing his acrobatic skills and looking confident.
With doubles becoming a regular feature of ski half-pipe competitions in the recent months, Hall clearly has some major catching up to do, that is if the tricks that he exhibited in the video released by Inspired Media Concept on Christmas are the best that he currently has in his arsenal.
