  1. Start with a higher SPF like 15 or 30 and have somebody gauge your skin.  Depending on how sensitive you prove to be, scale down to lower SPFs.  The trick is not to burn.  If you do, the whole tan will peel off when you get home.

Go to a tanning salon a couple times in advance to get your skn accustomed to the rays.

  2. In The Bahamas you do not have to  stay outside in the hot sun everyday in order to get a tan. There are  areas

on the Beach  shaded by trees where you can lie down perhaps with a book and get a tan with less exposure to the sun.

  3. Get some time in a tanning booth at home before you come to the Caribbean.  The sun in the Caribbean will cook you very quickly... so use the highest SPF for the first day or two or you will be SORRY.

  4. I'm going the 24th through the 30th
