  1. spray tans are better. half an hour in a tanning bed is 5 hours on a beach. please dont go to a tanning salon. going once in your life isnt bad, but why dont you just go outside and tan? it summer?

  2. yes people get skin cancer, y don't u try jergen self tanner it really works and it makes ur skin soft, least dangerous out of all the choices i believe

  3. I guess if you just want to try it, it would be fine. But if you don't plan on going on a regular basis your tan won't last.. so what's the point really? Tanning beds can obviously be extremely dangerous. They are much stronger than the sun, so they can cause all the skin damage, skin cancer, etc that the sun does. Plus you don't wear sunblock when you're in one.. very unsafe. I used to use them occasionally when I was a teenager and after you're done your skin smells burnt and disgusting. Like you were cooking in the tanning bed. I'll never use one again. I have a nice natural tan from the sun, that I got gradually and haven't burned once this summer because I'm not od'ing on the sun. Protect yourself with spf while sunbathing (if you do). I've never had a spray on tan.. and although they can make you look fakely tanned and orange, it's much healthier for your skin. I think those last 5 or so days.. depending on where you go.

  4. Yes, you can get skin cancer from tanning beds!

"Ultraviolet radiation emitted from tanning beds and sunlamps can cause skin burn, premature aging of the skin, eye and immune system damage, and skin cancer, including the most serious form, malignant melanoma.

A single 15-30 minute session under a tanning bed or sunlamp exposes the body to the same amount of harmful ultraviolet light as an entire day at the beach."

"Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in Canada. According to the Canadian Dermatology Association, 60-70% of skin cancer cases could be avoided by adopting a safer lifestyle - following sun safety guidelines when outdoors and avoiding tanning beds and sunlamps."

Please think twice and do your research!

  5. yes it is

  6. I went and layed in there naked and burnt my butt and junior and the twins I'll never do it again.

  7. Any reputable tanning salon will ask you to complete an inventory/interview to determine how quickly you can burn. They will use this to determine at what level and for how much time you can safely tan.

If your salon does not ask these questions, then you should leave!
