Tanvir Dar Hockey Academy shoots down U-16 Western Germany Hockey Union, 6-1: Hockey Recap
Following a brilliant show-off, Tanvir Dar Hockey Academy trounced U-16 Western Germany Hockey Union by five goals, 6-1 that took place in Essen, Germany on June 10, 2011.
It was one of the toughest competitions of Dar Academy, as three National U-16 players were part of the West German team. However, the players from the Pakistani side were at their best and took the game.
The players from Dar Academy started the game quite maturely and showed well-organised passing in the very early minutes of the first half. Rizwan, the skipper of the Dar Academy, sent a pass from the right flank which was successfully intercepted
by Sohail. He slightly flicked the ball and sent it into the net, taking one-goal lead for Dar Academy.
After scoring the first goal of the game, the Dar Academy started a more offensive style of play and carried out back-to-back attacks. However, the youngsters from Western Union were not ready to give up. The defensemen from Western Union displayed
impressive game and made plenty of crucial saves. Dar Academy obtained few short-corners in the opening half, but failed to convert them into successful goals.
From the other side, the German youngsters also attacked Pakistani counter-parts, but these were not perilous efforts. With three minutes into the first half of play, Bilal Mahmood managed to take the ball inside the circle and unleashed a powerful
shot at the goal-post, increasing the lead up to two goals, 2-0.
The players from Western Germany made an excellent effort to return into the game. However, the shot was denied from Pakistani custodian, Aqeel, in the last minute of the first half. The first half of play completed with Dar Academy sitting on the
top by 2-0.
In the second half action, both the teams started more aggressive style of play. However, the players from Pakistan were looking more productive than the competitors. In the very early minutes of the second half, Awais managed to steal the ball away
and struck a low-flying shot at the corner of the cage to enhance the lead to 3-0. However, the players from Dar Academy missed few more short-corners in the second half of play.
The German players, who were badly looking maiden goal, received a short-corner besides some open opportunities, but to no avail. The Pakistani defenders blocked all the strikes successfully to maintain the lead. In the first fifteen minutes of the
second half, Adnan scored another goal from the field effort and took the lead to 4-0.
In a matter of few minutes, Bilal notched a couple of goals and established their complete dominance onto the field by 6-0. At last the efforts from German players bore fruit, when Tillmann Poll scored the only goal of his team. However, the goal did
not save them from a humiliating defeat and they lost to Tanvir Dar Hockey Academy at 6-1.
