Tanzania holds volleyball coaches course – Volleyball news
In order to inspire the volleyball followers, Manyara Amateur Volleyball Association (Mava) has organised a week-long coaching course in Manyara, Tanzania.
The coaching course in Manyara started off on Monday and it is scheduled to run through Saturday. Mava interim chairman, Halifa Mfanga, is the main person behind setting up this amazing opportunity for aspiring coaches of the region. In this regard, Mava
also received a lot of help from Tanzania Amateur Volleyball Association (TAVA).
It is a basic Level I coaching course, which has been designed for physical education teachers of primary and secondary schools. It is supposed to serve the sole purpose of promoting the challenging sport of volleyball at the domestic level in Tanzania.
The Mava and TAVA have joined hands to effectively revive and develop volleyball in the area. This is one of the major projects carried out by Mava in a long time.
Alfred Selengia, the TAVA Chairman of Regional Development Commission is performing his duties as the official instructor of the course.
Due to financial constraints, there is a fee of 50,000/- for each of the participant. Furthermore, the participants from other parts of the country will have to bear the food and accommodation expenses.
Mava interim chairman, Halifa Mfanga, said, “Successful completion of the course will see participants receive the national Level 1 volleyball coaching certificate, which will qualify them to attend the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Level 1
coaching course that is expected to take place in September, this year.”
The chairman of the Mava has great many plans for future. He wants to bring Manyara among the best volleyball regions in Tanzania. To achieve this goal, he has been putting a lot of efforts in the recent times. He has a keen eye for young energetic athletes
of the Manyara region. It is likely that the region will capture more limelight in the next few years.
After the successful completion of Manyara Coaching Course, small town of Tanzania Babati will host the similar activity. Mfanga invited all other interested individuals to come and participate in the course.
