Tao Jiaming, Jinhua Tang proceed to second stage of qualifying round in 2012 Yonex Denmark Open
Mixed Doubles partners Tao Jiaming and Jinhua Tang cleared their first hurdle in the qualifying round of Yonex Denmark Open after beating Anders Skaarup Rasmussen-Lena Grebak on October 16, 2012.
They took just 28 minutes to wrap this showdown up in two games with a favourable result of 21-17 and 21-15.
This splendid win took them one step closer to the main round and now their next challenge will be to surpass another local pair Jonas Rasmussen-Maria Helsbol to gain access to the main draw of this Premier Super Series event.
Earlier in their opening match, the Chinese campaigners performed superbly in pressure situation and alarmed all the contestants of this tournament.
Tao Jiaming and Jinhua Tang, who hold fourth spot in tournament ranking, kept a low profile in the beginning of this match and struck hard when it mattered.
In the opening game, they took some time to read their rivals’ game and allowed the opposing team to stay close on the points table.
However, they did not waste time and started the beating just before the interval. They finished first half of the set with a notable margin of 11.
After the mid-game break, Tao Jiaming and Jinhua Tang prevailed in three successive rallies and strengthened their grip.
They put their opponents under huge pressure by raising the lead in third quarter of the set and made best out of this advantage to pile up a final total of 21-17.
The second set was played in similar fashion as the Danish shuttlers failed to rise on their toes and disappointed their supporters by crashing out in a disgraceful manner.
Anders and Lena let many valuable points slip from their hands and this bad patch ultimately resulted in their defeat.
On the other hand, the Chinese campaigners got into commanding position with 7-1 total and established an unassailable lead with 11-5 margin before the one-minute break.
Tao Jiaming and Jinhua Tang did not show any mercy in later part of the game and smacked their competitors with a striking knock of 21-15.
Now they are just one win away from the main round of 2012 Yonex Dutch Open.
