Tao Jiaming, Jinhua Tang raise Mixed Doubles trophy in SCG Thailand Open 2012
Mixed Doubles team Tao Jiaming-Jinhua Tang of China doubled the celebration by winning Mixed Doubles title in SCG Thailand Open on June 10, 2012.
The championship duo overwhelmed local pair Sudket Prapakamol-Saralee Thoungthongkam in just two games with a striking total of 21-14 and 21-16.
This title match was staged at CU Sports Complex of Bangkok and the Chinese couple played with right attitude and fortitude in this tussle which prolonged to 41 minutes.
They were not only playing against higher ranked opponents but they also had to face strong opposition from local crowd which was gathered to support the natives.
However, they showed strong character and secured second title for China after their compatriot duo Xiaolong Liu-Zihan Qiu who clinched Men’s Doubles crown earlier.
Tao Jiaming and Jinhua Tang set the foundation of this splendid victory in very first game when they outclassed their opponents with a notable difference.
Both teams were poles apart in terms of their tactical and technical expertise as the Chinese couple did not give their rivals even a single chance to strike at the foundations of their dominance.
They swiftly established a six-point lead in the start with 7-1 total and then finished first half with a respectable margin of 11-5.
After the interval, World Number nine duo Sudket Prapakamol-Saralee Thoungthongkam put a decent resistance and weakened their grip in third quarter of the set.
The Thai couple won couple of nonstop rallies and reached at a respectable position of 10. They managed to bring their competitor’s lead to four points by registering 12-16 score on the board.
However, the opposing team Tao Jiaming-Jinhua Tang prevailed in final stage of the set as they won five out of last seven points and finished this race with 21-14.
Following game added lot of sensation in this crucial contest as it was dominated by the natives in the beginning but then Chinese campaigners switched on the best in them and wrapped the show.
In first half of second set, Sudket Prapakamol-Saralee was in commanding position until 6 but then Tao Jiaming-Jinhua Tang geared up and pushed their competitors into dark with a decisive figure of 21-16.
