Tap Exam Tips? How not to get nervous?

I've taken a bunch of tap exams, but I always get nervous and make stupid mistakes. I have no idea why I get nervous, but I do and I can even feel my knees shaking.

How can I get past my nerves so I can do my best tomorrow?

  1. okay i must say i know exactly how you feel!

i have a major tap exam at the end of the year!

This is the exam that qualifies me to teach alone pretty much so im nervous now!

okay so thats probably not helping you right now...

well i dont know about you but i practise in the kitchen in my slippers, it annoys the h**l out of my mum, but anyway just think of it as your hollow sounding kitchen floor that you are gunna practise on because it sounds awesome, that the examiner is just some random chef out of a cookbook left on the bench and that all you care about is dancing.

It would also help if you bring a book or ipod or something to amuse yourself beforehand so your not going through dance steps in your head.

and generally i think about how, when i get home im so gunna eat some chocolate, s***w my figure! lol!

which i pretty much do al the time anyway!

  2. breath. when u focus on your breathing you tend to forget everything else.

  3. Well im interested to know what type of tap exam it is.

    is it ATOD

    or RAD or another syllabus?

anyway if you know the steps before you walk in think

"yeah im good, im going to flaunt this, and anyway im prettier than the examiner"

Lol maybe not the last one ;)

but dont stress think how hard it is to FAIL a dance exam after all the practise you go through im sure you'll be finee

    Good luck!!

  4. Well, you can just think of this as a normal test...and if your mark is already high enough..it doesnt even matter if you pass your exam , you will pass your course anyways.
