Tap dancers HELP!?

how do you do a wing? is it like a shuffle step with both feet? Thanks a lot!

yes its two shuffles with both feet at the same time. it was fun. i had to do it for my tap class it was fun we were dancing to boogie woogie bugle boy!

it's hard to explain without being there in person but a wing is definitely not a shuffle with both feet. to do a wing (and i recommend practicing with one foot first) you basically scrape (or brush) the floor with your pinky toe (not literally just think about it that way to get the feel for it) on the way out and with your big toe on the way back in. your ankles have to be relatively relaxed to do it. if you don't give yourself enough jump though you can hurt yourself so be careful. utilize the barre

it takes some practice but once you get it you can move on to double wings and those are fun for sure.

yes   exactly that  but befor you atempt   i would practice by holding onto the bar    it helps    alot    the once you feel comfortable  step away from the bar!!!   hope i helped

it takes alot of practice to be able to get all of the sounds with both feet at once

don't listen to them!! A Wing is a roll of the ankles to make a sound a wing is not a shuffle! you jump together jump out roll your ankles slide your feet out then in fast! I hope that helps!

its NOT a shuffle step with both feet if this is what you are doing its WRONG

is kinda hrd to explain without showing you buy basically you do a low jump scraping the edge of your shoe on the floor on both feet sideways and outwards and tap with both feet on the way back in heres and example of a two footed or double wing

on the other video (not mine) that is what a wing looks like but her technique is off and you aren't supposed to shuffle - trust me i know
