  1. yes ballet helps with tap and if u are good a ballet i think u would like pointe but i would ask ur dance instructor first its really up to them...

  2. You have to take ballet to get ANYWHERE in dance, it doesn't matter what style. Definantely get involved in a class immediately if you want to move up.

  3. well ballet gives a good centre balance and posture. and tapping helps with musicality and personality.

    they help eachother

  4. Taking ballet helps out with any kind of dance you do

It teaches determination, and precision in a very similar way that gymnastics does.

Tap and ballet go very well together because the muscles you use in tap are all of the ones that you do not use in ballet, making for a very strong, well-rounded dancer.

Keep taking ballet, and you will most definitely be good enough for pointe if you work hard enough at it.  If you are talented, it will take less than a year to get those pointe shoes.

Also, your gymnastics background will help immensely for the strength needed for ballet.

    Have fun dancing!

  5. yes yes yes definately take ballet! I would especially encourage someone like you to take it! Why? Because gymnasts who switch to ballet tend to do VERY WELL at it. Taking ballet also does help tap, so that's another positive aspect.

I am so glad that you understand you will not be en pointe immediately. For someone like you, the time you take to get en pointe may be shorter than any other beginner, because you are probably already quite strong. You just need to develop turnout.

If you do get the oppourtunity to go en pointe, if you want to you should take it. If you don't want to, the don't feel pressured. Ballet is just as beautiful off of pointe as on.

Ahhh sorry about the long message i'm just excited for you because a gymnast turning to ballet is common and so i think you will do very well!
