Tapas for our wedding reception

How does this sound. For our wedding I was thinking (actually my fiances idea) lots of apitizers, tapas, hor dourves whatever you want to call them.... served all night, as well as a pasta bar. Very causal and loungy, yet your full when you leave. Then to top it off no cake, but diffrent kinds of wedding pie. sweet fried dough, choclate covered starwberrys and sugar covered almonds (clearly we are italian and jewish). Ok here's the question. what are some really good ideas for hor dourves

  1. At our reception we had bacon wrapped scallops (which were gone within 10 minutes), chicken satay with peanut sauce and beef potstickers.  You could also serve marinated mushrooms or shrimp, grilled steak etc.  Make sure there is a variety: a beef, chicken and seafood dish.

Definitely include something for those on special diets and/or are vegetarians so you might want to consider having a salad bar in addition to the pasta bar.  Some weddings have had baked potato bars too.

Think about your favorite foods and choose something that best fits your tastes.

  2. Hello i think this sounds like a really nice idea.  pasta bar sounds like an awesome idea ( i am italin too) you could have a few different choices of pasta, ravioli, tortellini and peni with deifferent choices of sauce aswell.  Antipasto platers with marinated olives, grilled eggplant, nice continental cheeses and meats.  The only thing i think you should do is have some sort of wedding cake even if it is just a small one, you need somthing to cut!!!  have fun planning your wedding, and i hope it is a lovely day xox

  3. I don't know. What do you like? It is your wedding and you can plan to eat whatever you want. I'm sure you could go online and just randomly pick some. I personally like deviled eggs. :)
