I have a Mitsubishi HS-U795 and since I've owned it I've been using a tape rewinder for the Fuji SVHS tapes that I use to make my daily recordings. Eventually, however, the tapes get start to degrade and white, horizontal lines show up on the recordings. I tried using a tape for a while without using the rewinder and lines didn't show up (at least not yet).My question: will using this VCR's built in rewinder in any way shorten the life of my VCR? This is a great machine and from what I've read not being made anymore. Another point: would using tapes that have been damaged in a rewinder effect the heads of the VCR as it records and plays?Thnx.
